The printing of our greeting and correspondence cards is done by Tim on three presses: two Adana platen presses (a 5×3 and 8×5) and a proofing press of undetermined origin!
We use a combination of type, vintage blocks and custom made plates in zinc or photopolymer. The chases on the Adana presses limit the size of area that can be printed to either 5 inches by 3 inches or 8 inches by 5 inches, although so far we’ve found that this isn’t a limitation for the work that we want to produce. We can go bigger with the proofing press if needed as the useable space on the bed is around 12 inches by 9 inches.
